{PRESS RELEASE}For the past 10 years, Sariah Ha has been absent from the art world, but she’s back with an even stronger series of art. With multiple media being used throughout her paintings, her figures and composition bring out a story that can be controversial for many 1st generations of Americans. As a 1st generation Asian American, she reveals the secrets and lies that are forbidden to the outside world.

Her paintings depict the TRUTH of being born as a female in the Asian culture. The neglect, hatred, and abuse she’s withheld are now visually being exposed throughout her work. Each piece of this new revelation is a MUST-SEE. The art of watercolor, ink, gouache, embossing, wax, and all the different types of mediums that are used throughout her work are now depicted differently. The way she mixes the mediums brings out a texture that has never been seen. Her negative space becomes her positive space. It’s definitely something that must be seen in person.

I enjoy looking at her artwork and its layers of meaning. There are a lot of areas of visual interest throughout her works that hold the viewer and add to the continued discoveries when returning to a piece more than once.
